Bio-mass heating in Austria

Since 1992, Danfoss Nopro in Austria has worked to minimised the Austrians’ dependence on fossil fuels.
Forty-seven per cent of Austria is covered by forests so heating using wood is a natural environmentally friendly alternative. Danfoss Nopro has developed and produced a district heating station and surveillance systems for bio-mass systems and has taken part in 250 projects concerning bio-mass heating in Austria. Heating using wood is not only an energy source for large power stations. Nopro has delivered products to projects which supply district heating to only ten end-users in a network. The systems have an extremely high efficiency – as much as 99% which is only feasible because of Danfoss’ thoroughly tested regulation.

Corporate Citizenship

Danfoss’ overall goal within Corporate Citizenship is "keeping our own house in order".
This applies to employees, so that they have an attractive workplace and a healthy work-ing environment. It applies to the environment, where Danfoss products contribute to energy savings, and where the environmental impact of their production is constantly being reduced.
And it applies, in a broad sense, to social and ethical responsibility.
Efforts are continually being intensified, because when employee satisfaction is high, consumption of resources is as low as possible, and the company’s ethics and reputation are good, the result is a positive effect on the accounting bottom line.
